Principal
Taylor co-founded Kidwell Scott with a simple goal: to build the kind of responsive, collaborative engineering firm he'd want to hire himself. With over a decade of experience in structural design, he enjoys untangling complex challenges and finding creative solutions that make an architect's vision a reality.

As a co-founder of Kidwell Scott, Cory is driven by a passion for building strong relationships as well as strong structures. He has engineered a diverse range of projects since 2013, giving him the broad expertise needed to tackle any challenge with confidence.

What's your favorite code book?
Steel Manual Second Edition. It was made during the Great Depression so there weren't many printed—I'm lucky to have one. It's also proof that things will "steel" need to be built even in tough times.
What do you like to do outside of work?
A lot: basketball, mountain biking, racquetball, tennis, woodworking, disc golf, golf, and hiking to hit the high points.
What's your dream vacation?
Did it in 2024—hiking in Switzerland and the Dolomites. Will be going back soon.

I chose structural engineering because of a childhood dream to create homes for people. It allows me to do that in a way that challenges me and uses my love of math and problem solving.

Derek Hickman, CSI
Senior Structural Designer
Since starting his career as a structural designer in 2012, Derek has been passionate about turning complex engineering concepts into clear, coordinated construction documents. As Kidwell Scott's Senior Structural Designer, he leads Revit modeling efforts across a wide variety of project types and enjoys working closely with engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver successful projects.

Gracie Bailey
Office Administrator
Before joining Kidwell Scott in 2026, Gracie spent nearly a decade in the insurance industry leading agency teams and operations. As Office Administrator, she keeps day-to-day operations moving efficiently, supports our staff and clients, and tackles the countless details that often go unnoticed but make a big difference.
What's the best part of your job?
Being able to serve our amazing team and play a small role in the great work they are doing. I enjoy keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes so everyone can do what they do best.
What's your go-to karaoke song?
"Dinosaur" by Hank Williams Jr. or "Jesus, Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Hiking, kayaking, exploring antique and thrift stores, enjoying live music at a great local restaurant, and lately learning the art of sourdough baking.
What's a fact no one knows about you?
I can play the trumpet — I played in college and still pick it up just for fun sometimes.
